Resurrection

Tim May

Lead Pastor

For our Savior, death was not the end, but it was a necessary step for the salvation of all mankind. To conquer death and to show the world that he was truly the messiah, he rose from the grave three days later.

Like many people today, the Corinthian church had doubts about the resurrection. But Paul, with love, patience, and faith explains that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is at the very foundation of everything in the story of the Gospel.

This Sunday, Pastor Tim discusses the importance of the resurrection and that the emphasis of this moment is as important as the emphasis of the crucifixion because without the resurrection, the “house of cards” falls.

Engagement Questions:

  1. How does the resurrection of Jesus “hold the gospel together?” Why is it so vitally important?
  2. Is it easier to focus on Jesus’ death on the cross than his resurrection from the grave? Why? What can you do to more firmly anchor your life to the hope and power of the resurrection?

Scripture Reference

1 Corinthians, Matthew, Romans
